Students register differently for credit-bearing, noncredit and CEU courses offered by OCPE. In addition to reviewing the guidelines below, please be sure to note our tuition and billing policies.

Our noncredit courses are open to all learners. Noncredit registration takes place online via our online registration system or by using the OCPE Noncredit Registration Form. You may pay online with a credit card. If you’d like to pay with a check, we can assist you with the registration process. Contact us at (804) 828-1322 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Individuals who attend an approved CEU event at VCU and plan to receive CEU credit through OCPE’s online registration system must submit the CEU Event Registration Form to the event coordinator, along with any payment required. Registration is open to all qualifying students. Normal prerequisites indicated in course descriptions within VCU Bulletins apply to all courses. We encourage students working on degrees at other institutions or who have questions about the suitability of a course to meet a program or degree requirement to communicate with their advisers to determine the transferability of the VCU course to their program.
Courses numbered 500 and above are graduate level — only those students who hold an undergraduate degree are eligible to enroll. Current VCU undergraduates may enroll in 500‐level courses with approval of their advisers and consent of the programs offering the courses.
The location of a class does not restrict enrollment to those employed in the school division where the class is scheduled. Any restrictions will be noted in the course description.
Students who enrolled the previous semester may register online at VCU eServices through the add/drop period of the course. If the course is restricted in any way, students must register through OCPE.
Anyone who does not qualify for online registration must register directly with OCPE with the OCPE Credit Registration Form, which can be returned to us, with your signature, via email, fax or mail. To submit the form via email, please scan it with your written signature as a PDF. You can also visit our office at 9 W. Cary St., Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
You may also enroll during the first class meeting for courses that meet face-to-face and have no restrictions. If you elect to wait until the first class, you are advised to call OCPE before that date to determine the status of the course. A course that has a low enrollment may be canceled prior to the first meeting. Also, a course may have reached maximum enrollment before the first meeting date; in this case, you will not be able to register on-site.
You also must complete the Application for Virginia In-State Tuition and submit it with your registration.
