In today’s rapidly shifting workplace, organizations are looking for professional development that exceeds the standard. They need training that is targeted, adaptable and immediately applicable. One of the clearest examples of this approach at VCU CPE is our growing partnership with Allianz Partners, a global leader in travel insurance and assistance services. Together, we launched a five-month, fully customized leadership development initiative for Allianz employees that includes two tailored tracks: Emerging Leaders and Leadership Development.

When organizations turn to VCU CPE for specialized training, they gain direct access to more than 3,300 instructional faculty and adjunct instructors and deep community partnerships. The process is highly collaborative; VCU CPE works with organizations to assess needs, identify skill gaps, set budgets, source subject matter experts, develop content and determine the ideal delivery format whether it’s in-person, virtual or a combination of both.

For Allianz Partners, this model was a natural fit.

“Continuing our partnership with VCU aligns perfectly with our strategic focus on community engagement and our dedication to continuous learning and career development for our associates,” said Kelsey Aistrop, Human Resources Generalist at Allianz. “By working with VCU, we’re able to offer a customized learning experience that addresses the unique needs of our current and emerging leaders, equipping them to thrive in the ever-changing travel insurance industry.”

The customized Allianz program blends academic insight with practical application. Over the course of the program, participants will move through in-person workshops on essential leadership competencies, including growth mindset, emotional intelligence, strategic communication and situational leadership. They’ll also complete Everything DiSC® assessments, individualized coaching and a team-based capstone project tied directly to Allianz’s business challenges.

“We expect these skills and insights to show up in their daily work through more effective team leadership, innovative problem-solving and stronger collaboration across the organization,” Aistrop explained.

As industries continue to transform, organizations are rethinking how they prepare employees for the future. The VCU CPE–Allianz partnership demonstrates what’s possible when learning experiences are built intentionally with strong employer collaboration, academic expertise, and industry-aligned outcomes that meet organizational priorities.
