Check back for Spring 2022 registration for nondegree-seeking students planning to take the courses needed to earn the Capital CoLAB Digital Tech Credential.
In partnership with the VCU College of Engineering, noncredit and credit-based professional development opportunities are offered to adult learners including but not limited to entry-level scientists, engineers, technicians, supervisory personnel, and business managers of all types. Courses may be appropriate as on-boarding for new employees.
Registration for Maker Garage Training Courses (open to VCU College of Engineering students only), is also available through VCU Continuing and Professional Education, however is currently paused due to COVID-19.
- Automation and Controls (Optional 4.00 CEUs) - This introductory noncredit course in Industrial Automation specifically focuses on the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for manufacturing and process control.
- Introduction to Little Data: Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiments (Optional 1.20 CEUs) - This short course serves as an introduction to a statistical approach to the design and analysis of experiments in science, engineering, and data-driven decision making.
- Maker Garage Training Courses - Students who seek to use the Maker Garage space must first complete a Basic Shop Safety Training Course (3 contact hours), and demonstrate the ability to operate basic equipment before access is granted. For more advanced equipment and tools, higher level training courses are available and required.

Courses include Computers and Programming, Data Science Skills, and Cybersecurity Skills. A Software Engineering and Web Development course is also available.
