VCU Online and Continuing and Professional Education will host its inaugural regional conference on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Richmond, Virginia in Summer 2023, kicking off with a pre-conference event on Monday, June 19, 2023, followed by the conference from Tuesday-Thursday, June 20-22, 2023.

About the VCU Online UDL Regional Conference

Join both higher education and P-12 faculty and staff colleagues to explore the intersection of UDL with the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion. You'll explore traditional undergraduate and graduate programming, continuing and professional education, internal human resources, and other faculty and staff training.


The conference will be held at the Omni Richmond Hotel at 100 S 12th Street, Richmond, VA 23219. The group rate is $145 per night plus tax for single occupancy, and $155 per night plus tax for double occupancy. You may stay for up to 3 days before or after the conference at the group rate for early arrival or departure. Reservations may be made here>


The Omni Hotel is 10 miles from the Richmond International Airport. Parking is available on site. The valet is available 24 hours, at $30 per night. Overnight self-parking is available in the James Center (no in/out privileges) at $5 per hour, with a maximum of $25.

Discounts are available for full time students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) and for P-12 educators. Any available coupon codes must be used/applied at the time of enrollment, cannot be combined with other discounts/coupons or waivers, and will not be retroactively applied. Cancellation/change policy

You may cancel your registration up until 60 days before the first day of the conference, and receive a full refund minus a $35 credit card processing fee. After that date, no refunds will be given. Cancellations must be received via email at

In the unlikely event that this conference is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.

Transfer policy

You may transfer your registration to a different person if requested in writing via email at by June 1, 2023. The participant must meet all prerequisites or qualifications required by the program and complete an online registration.
